‘Hole in the Wall Curtains’ advice makes it into the April 2012 ‘Sew’ magazine…

Hole in the Wall CurtainsThe ‘Hole in the Wall Curtains’ team were recently very flattered to find out that the ‘Sew’ magazine had been in contact to ask whether we’d consider offering some advice that could feature in their special ‘Home Sew’ April 2012 edition.

We obviously jumped at the chance, so our very own Lisa Kowalski (Custom Made Consultant) took up the challenge, and here’s what she had to say:

Lisa Kowalski, Custom Made Consultant, Hole in the Wall Curtains“When choosing fabric for your curtains its important to consider your stitching know-how; if this is your first project an elaborate silk may not be your best choice, perhaps go for a simple cotton fabric instead. Key designs for this spring are fresh and vibrant.

In order to get the best finish always make sure your curtains are cut out correctly. Always take care when ironing fabric and be aware that some may stretch, mark or shrink. Avoid overcomplicating your design and stick to the motto – measure twice, cut once – to ensure you get off to a good start. Finally time and patience are a must, if you can master these you’re sure to end up with a lovely product.”

For any further help and advice please feel free to give the ‘Hole in the Wall Curtains’ team a call on 01922 631512. Oh, and if you want to see the article in full, check it out on our Facebook page.
