For some, the fast approaching Autumn/Winter of 2012 is a depressing thought… However, here at Hole in the Wall Curtains the dark, cold and frosty nights signify the start of a very exciting time!

Why, well here’s the reason…

Having spent the final few months of the summer developing, and subsequently ordering, a brand new range of products to reflect the upcoming trends of the Autumn/Winter 2012, the Hole in the Wall Team finally start to take delivery of the fresh new designs!

Now, we don’t want to come across as show offs, but we were so pleased to receive this lovely thank you message recently that we just can’t resist sharing it with you…

In response to our much valued customer feedback, the Hole in the Wall Curtains Team have spent the past few months researching a brand new range to further enhance our haberdashery department, The Drapery,…

So, we are VERY pleased to announce that our plans will soon come to fruition with the arrival of a brand new range of wool, yarn and knitting patterns!

Our very own Martin Silvester is famous! Yes, the rumours are true, our Stock Controller extraordinaire has been featured in Mark Power’s Black Country Stories – a photography exhibition currently taking place at the New Art Gallery in Walsall.

Since the recent launch of our new Hole in the Wall Curtains (Walsall) and Fabric Direct (Kidderminster) store websites, the Hole in the Wall Curtains Group have been working on a brand new project…

So, following many hours of hard work, we are VERY exciting to introduce Hole in the Wall Interiors our very own ecommerce website (www.holeinthewallinteriors.co.uk). Here’s a little bit more information about our new project:

On Saturday 30th June 2012 Hole in the Wall Curtains were part of historic moment, an estimated 50,000 people descended on their hometown of Walsall to line the streets in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Olympic Torch on day 43 of its relay.

It’s amazing what can be achieved with time, skill, hard work and some imagination… Take a look how children from St Anne’s Catholic Primary School, Streetly, (with a bit of help from Mrs Acton) created a magnificent handmade banner celebrating the Olympics using fabrics (and other crafty bits) from the Hole in the Wall Curtains!

Here at Hole in the Wall Curtains we are VERY excited to announce the arrival of a brand new fashionable and quirky range of fabrics and wallpapers…

The collection comes courtesy of Scion, here’s how they introduce their new brand:

The challenge has been set… Clark and Clark, one of the fabric industry’s leading suppliers, are currently running a competition for the ‘Best Dressed Window’. So, not being one to turn down a challenge, we have decided to enter!

Once completed the window will be dressed with a flat pelmet, roman blind, curtains and tiebacks all of which will be custom made in our own onsite workroom. The coordinating fabrics used to create our ‘masterpiece’ will be taken from the Clark and Clark Maritime collection, here’s a little bit more about the range:

Every year April 2nd marks a landmark for the Hole in the Wall Curtains team, as 8 years ago to the day a huge fire threatened our stores continued existence.

Events of the blaze were covered by newspaper reporters and televisions crews from across the Midlands, making the story big local news. The following BBC report taken at the time of the fire helps describe the severity of the situation:

The Hole in the Wall Curtains team were recently very flattered to find out that the Sew magazine had been in contact to ask whether we’d consider offering some advice that could feature in their special Home Sew April 2012 edition.

We obviously jumped at the chance, so our very own Lisa Kowalski (Custom Made Consultant) took up the challenge, and here’s what she had to say…

Back in 2010 the Hole in the Wall Curtains played host, and film location, to Kirstie Allsopp and her Homemade Home Team. We were all so thrilled to be part of Kirstie’s Homemade Home series that we couldn’t resist using our new blog to boast about it!
